I love family photography. Like newborn photographers, there are many different types of family photographers out there.
Some are more formal, they have you stand and pose. Then there are the family photographers who like to do more of a candid or lifestyle photo session. These photographers don’t fuss so much about having everyone look at the camera, but more so about capturing how families interact, naturally. I call it, “life-inspired” family photography and that’s how I shoot.
My goal is to capture your family authentically. I will offer some posing tips and suggest that you keep smiling through the entire shoot. I mostly encourage interaction, connections and genuine emotion through games and play. I strive to capture your family just as you are – smiles, frowns, quirks, silliness, tears, giggles, all of it.
As I mentioned on my MEET AMANDA page, some of my all-time favorite images are the random in-between moments that clients, like you, probably didn’t even know are happening.
Outdoor family sessions
Outdoor sessions are generally shot one to two hours prior to sunset for best natural lighting. Special accommodations can be made for sunrise sessions as well.
These sessions last about one hour.
In-home lifestyle family sessions
These take place in the comforts of your home and incorporate everything about your family, using your home as the background.
Play games, bake cookies, read books, play in the backyard… just your family being YOU!
These sessions last about one to two hours.
