Answers to some Frequently Asked (and some not so frequently asked but still important) Questions.
Q: Why custom photography? Why not just go to a chain store?
A: Because you are unique, your children are unique, and because I can capture that uniqueness better outside at a park or at your home with your favorite things, than a chain store can in a ten minute time slot with their standard props and backdrops. Sometimes it takes children longer than ten minutes to warm up to the idea of being photographed by a stranger, and I’m okay with that! I’m happy to play with them or talk to them until they’re ready to be my beautiful subject and show me their lovely smiles and sparkling personality. I want you to love your images, I want to capture this precious moment in your family’s life, and I want you to be able to bring, do or wear whatever you want to create a completely personalized and meaningful experience for you and your family.
Q: What is your availability? How far in advance should I book my session?
A: I primarily book sessions on weekends with an occasional weekday afternoon session if need be. Since I really only shoot on the weekends, sessions book up pretty quickly so I recommend scheduling 2-4 weeks in advance for all session types with the exception of Newbie sessions. Obviously, those are not exactly predictable and are scheduled and handled differently. Please email me for availability.
Q: How much is this all going to cost?
A: My pricing is simple, straight-forward and VERY affordable so you can enjoy your custom photography session without worrying about the cost. To retain my services, I request a $25 session deposit. This deposit is due at the time of booking to reserve your session date and to ensure current pricing. Your deposit will be considered a down payment and will be put toward your full session fee which is due at the end of your session. CLICK HERE for current session rates.
Q: What is included in the session fee?
A: All SweetLife Photography session fees include photographer time & creative talent on-location, clean & creative digital retouching and enhancing, a password protected online viewing & ordering gallery and a CD of lo-resolution digital copies of your images (for emailing and web use only – not suitable for printing). Hi-resolution digital print files from your session can be added to your CD for an additional $10.*
*Please let me know BEFORE your session CD is sent if you would like to add the print files. If a second CD is sent, the charge is $15.
Q: How soon will I get to see all my of photos?
A: I pride myself on my turn around time. Within 1-3 days, I will post a couple {Sweet Peeks} from your session on my SweetLife Photography Facebook fan page.
Between 2-5 days, a password protected online viewing gallery will be made available to you. You will receive an email with your password. You can login via the client login tab on my website. Here, you are able to preview, share and order prints of the final images from your session. You are not obligated to order prints through your gallery, however I do recommend printing your images at a professional print lab – whether it be my preferred lab or yours – to ensure the highest quality for your frames and walls as well as to protect the integrity of my work.
Your CD of lo-resolution images will be sent out within one week of your session.
Q: Can I change outfits during my session?
A: Absolutely. This is your custom photography session.
Q: Can we bring our dog to the session?
A: I am always happy to include your family pet in your photo session. However, do let me know ahead of time so we can choose a “pet friendly” location for our shoot. Also, it is a good idea to bring a friend along who can watch them while we finish our session.
Q: It looks like you only do families and children. Do you ever do engagement portraits or events or weddings?
A: Yes, I do a lot of families and children. There are a lot of families and children in the world to be photographed, and I love working with them!
I do not do events or weddings. Wedding photography is a whole different beast than what I do. I can happily refer you to a few friends who are professional wedding photographers and who are amazing at their job.
